Tilt & Turn Handles

Tilt & Turn Handles

As the name suggests, Tilt Turn handles are designed to work with windows that open inwards into a room and that tilt at the top to allow ventilation or turn inwards like a door to allow maintenance, cleaning or fire escape.

These handles come in several versions depending on the system. Most uPVC window handles have a 7mm square drive bar that locates into a gearbox (drive gear) and is fitted within the opening window frame and is held on with two machine screws through the face of the handle which are then concealed by a cover.

Some uPVC windows and most aluminium windows have a tongue drive rather than a square bar which drives the locking mechanism. These tongues can be flat or forked depending on the manufacturer and are generally fixed by two machine screws located on the back of the face plate
